So 10.5.5 is here. Weighs in at 321 MB via software updater. Anybody feeling brave? ;D

Wow, mine was only 100 and some odd meg. Running it right now. No problems. Even Time Machine is acting properly.

The insanelymac forums have a lot of chatter around this. Many are saying the 'netkas' method works but I suspect, based on your experience, that it depends on whether you use the combo or the delta. At 100 meg, you definitely had the delta and chances are that it did not contain the power management kexts that cause the need for the 'netkas' method.
Did you use Software Update reddrag0n?
Exciting! I'm looking forward to seeing if the Nvidia support has improved...

Mine was an update on an actual mac. My Quicksilver is running 10.5.5 since i have had some problems with the OS X86 installation. I put that project on hold and i went and brought the QS back into commission.
I couldn't stand the mouse tearing and lack of some of the components in the OS not working right, so i decided, bring the mac back.
Anyways, the update installed just fine. no problems from what i have seen while using it.

Right lol I assumed Hack. I've not updated my MDD yet - will probably do tonight alongside the Hack.

Well, that was painless enough! Gotta dodge the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext as usual and the eSATA icon is back but no worries. Lastly, the "don't steal OSX" line is gone and it didn't mess with my RAID set-up. P.S. The Delta was 316 MBs for me. The Combo update is 601 MBs!

I installed the standalone monster combo on my Hack. Same as you Nik, had to delete the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext but (because I used the combo?), still had to edit the InstallAtStartup script to add dsmos.kext. For mine to pick up SATA drives I had to use the old AHCI kexts. Sound got borken as well so had to repatch. Not major disruption really

Nikonnut prompted me to check out my graphics performance on the 8800GT since the 10.5.5 update. I must say I'm pretty impressed I can't find a screengrab from previous tests but here is the same test on my son's 8800GT based X-Plane Hack that still runs 10.5.4: Not a perfect comparison as the screen res is different and my card is the Golden Sample so clocked slightly higher. But I think it illustrates the point pretty reasonably!
