Aquamac,
Like you said, my board does not let me boot off the video card in the second slot so I'm not able to run the gfxutil -f display to see the location.
In Windows 7 the location paths are
Primary Card PC Bus 1, Device 0, Function 0 PCIRoot(0)#PCI(0300)#PCI(0000)
Secondary Card PCI Bus 3, Device 0, Function 0 PCIRoot(0)#PCI(1800)#PCI(0000)
in OS X the
Primary Card is PciRoot (0x1)/PCI(0x3,0x0)/PCI(0x0,0x0)
Secondary Card PciRoot (0x1)/PCI(0x18,0x0)/PCI(0x0,0x0)
Only thing I'm confused about is should it be PciRoot (0x0) or PciRoot (0x1)
Right now I have two 8600GT 256MB I'm trying to get working first, then once I get that working I will swap out the primary one for the 9800 GTX +

Hi, I made the dual strings for you below according to your info. The windows info shows (0) so that is what should be entered in the first box. However, if you download the strings, they are done. I also made the out.plist and com.apple.boot.plist for you. Attachments:

Aquamac,
I'm currently running OS X 10.5.8 with the original video card drivers, should I replace them? I used your com.apple.bootplist and my video card is not recognized.

quick update, I currently only have one 8600GT card in the first slot and the file you supplied didn't work. So i went in and changed the in.plist from
PciRoot (0x0)/PCI(0x3,0x0)/PCI(0x0,0x0)
to
PciRoot (0x1)/PCI(0x3,0x0)/PCI(0x0,0x0)
Rebooted and Viola! Card is recognized correctly and my video issue is gone.
I'm going to pop in the second card and see if it will work or not.
I left it as
PciRoot (0x0)/PCI(0x18,0x0)/PCI(0x0,0x0)
for now if it doesn't work I will changed it to
PciRoot (0x1)/PCI(0x18,0x0)/PCI(0x0,0x0)
and see if it works... Crossing fingers!

In that case the second string needs to be (0x1) as well.

With the location set to PciRoot (0x0)/PCI(0x18,0x0)/PCI(0x0,0x0),
2nd card wasn't reconized.
Changed it and system locks up...
Any ideas?

I notice in the in.plist you have my primary card 2nd in the list and the secondary one 1st. Does that make a difference?

You can swap them round but in my experience it makes no difference. The system locks up because the string is now correct and OS X is trying to initialise your second card. Unfortunately, OS X does not like the DSDT in your motherboards bios. I am not sure about fixing DSDT to allow 2 cards, try googling. Your string that gave you the KP is the correct one.

Hi,
To be honest this is totally down to your motherboard. Therefore it is very difficult to say - I do not have experience with nvidia motherboards. The only way you will get to know is to try it. There are some threads over at insanely mac where people have got 2 cards going on Nvidia motherboards. Best thing to do is borrow a card from a friend if you can to see if your board will support it before making the purchase.

If it is PCIe and does not have a bridge chip (AGP to PCIe converter). I think 6800 was only fitted with that chip as it was an AGP card that was converted unless it was a really late one.
