That was a nice case mod. Pardon me, but no matter, how many case mods is done with a PC case, Mac cases are still a piece of art.
I've been toying around with the idea of having my MDD case chrome plated for quite sometime. I don't like the bare metal look so my two options are either spray paint the case with aluminum color (a.k.a G5) or chrome to have a mirror look. Is painting the case won't affect the electro-magnetic shielding of the electronics inside? ( Is that the correct term?) I really, really want to do a lot of customising in my MDD for a real personalize feeling. (But no, I won't go watercooling yet, I need to learn more from aquamac ;D )

Kenji,
Funny you should say that, I also was thinking about doing the same thing. I think that chroming the case is the way to go as far as a really nice effect is concerned. Given that the case is Stainless steel, will it still chrome OK, I think so! I also agree with you about mac cases having "that little bit of something", but the cleanliness of this particular mod is exceptional.

hi aquamac if i understand what you said, chroming the case won't do any harm in the Mac's electronics. is that right? hi bb your mod is cute ;D however, what I want is complete re-painting or chroming of the metal case. I'm thinking of my MDD as a car show engine. When the engine compartment is close, it's boring , but once you open it up, all you can see are shiny chrome plated engine parts. ;D

Kenji,
The chroming won't hurt the electronics or electro-magnetic shielding, that's for sure. I was more concerned as to, if chrome plate will adhere to stainless steel particularly well. I will find out more! It appears stainless steel is 15% chrome anyway, so I don't think it will be a problem.
bb
Keep on modding!
