Ok, next step.

I reinstalled from scratch with iPC 10.5.6. Left out the PS2 fix and USB fix, and USB still works fine, but the PS2 keyboard and mouse don't so I'm using USB for both at the moment. Chose to install the Macbook Pro Nvidia drivers from the installer that are supposed to support 9xxx cards. I threw in the com.apple.Boot.plist and got the exact same results. My deviceID is 0x0605 if that has anything to do with this. Maybe the 9800GT link you have on here is for a different deviceID? Not sure. But every way I try this is coming up with the same results. I even started out with a Leo4allv4.1 (10.5.4) install, successfully upgraded to 10.5.5 and 9.5.0 Voodoo kernel, then installed your drivers and threw in the com.apple.Boot.plist file. Same thing. I have no idea why it would even be interfering with my mouse, as all it is is video. *shrug*

Eh well. I guess the Leo4all V6 might just be worth waiting for.

recently i have fresh install a 10.5.4 os via boot 132 then i put in a new GF display card for upgrade working all along your instruction you post at fist page but not succeed.

i have also install your 10.5.4 nv kext and open GL Framework , run your permission command delete the extensions.mkext still i cannot get a QE / CI

therefore my question will be:-

a) can you tell me the step by step modification on working throughout? it seem to be confused to me after reading so many posts and replies in this thread.

b) you have mentioned to delete Natit.kext, NVKush.kext, NVInject.kext in order to allow the GFX strings working, can you tell me the specific location inside the OSX pls?

every time when i boot up using the -v command the NVKush always displayed with "I Can Has Model?"

for the time being update to 10.5.6 the run OSX86 tools is unthinkable as i will encounter more technical challenge during boot up stage, (something i hope i can overcome shortly)

Yes nvkush is installed on your computer. It's location is here:

Double click your hard drive icon, then System/Library/Extensions. You will find nvkush.kext about half way down the folder. You need to delete it. Also check you do not have Natit.kext or NVInject.kext in there. If you have delete them.

Final update: It works.

For some reason your gfxutil app was giving me the wrong hex for my card. I don't know if you have it reading how I'm plugged into the card or whatever, but..

I installed Leo4allv4.1, upgraded to 10.5.5 via the easy update .pkg. Ran OSX86Tools which gave me a completely different EFI string. Threw that into com.apple.Boot.plist and everything worked fine.

With all these instabilities I'm reading about 10.5.6 at the moment, I think I'll just upgrade the kernel to 9.5.0 and stick with 10.5.5 till there's more guarantees out there.

thx for the tip, ater i consult with a local ture "hack mac tech" he told me that the NVkush.text file locate not in the leo HD , instead of the HD, it locate inside the bootloader "intrd.img"

so to speak, double click it and removed all of the injectors and NVkush , repair permissions and you get what U need,
your last reply did not mentioned that by thx v much anyway. as it take a god and painful effect to setup all those hacking/ modification tools

The Problem(s):

I'm not sure what i am doing wrong but whatever I do i cannot get QE to activate.

Am running iPC 10.5.6 distro. My GFX Card is an nVidia GeForce 9800 GT 1GB

Have installed your driver pack & used OSXTools to install Chameleon EFI and generate an EFI string (although custom since the card is not listed) for the card, injected the result into boot.plist - fixed permissions etc, rebooted. Under profiler it is still showing QE unsupported.

Did you delete Extensions.mkext and reboot with -f -v. When you get to the scrolling text where it reads

what figures do you get after each line?

To be honest, you should not need my driver pack in 10.5.6. It is untested in this. 10.5.6 includes all the updates anyway.

Check your extensions folder and make sure you have no injectors in there. NVInject.kext, NVKush.kext or Natit.kext. If you have any they must be removed.

Yes removed Extensions.mkext and rebooted with -f -v

Matching Service count = 1 on all, i think there were 5 in total.

No injectors installed.

Not sure if this makes a difference but iPC distro installs EFI v9. Would that make a huge difference?

That matching service count is wrong. For some reason your card is not being picked up by the drivers. Check you have all geforce kexts + NVDAResman.kext and NV50 kext.

First of all, Thank you for your time and information which has been VERY helpful in my troubleshooting my graphics driver problems in OS X.

I noticed that you did not have a pre-config posted on the first post for the Nvidia GT 9600 which happens to be my card.

I have the new XxX 10.5.6 Leo install with PPF 1. It comes with a ton of Nvidia drivers but does NOT specifically mention my card during the "customization" of the OS install so I don't know what to try.

A couple of questions?

1. Do I need use your "Nvidia 9000 Series Drivers V2" with this? Will I need one of those pre-config files as well (GFX) for the GT 9600?

Hi vjdave,

If you are installing 10.5.6 you should not need my drivers as 10.5.6 should have native support for your card. I will make a pre config for your card and post it up in the GFX topic with the others. Can you tell me, is yours a 512 mb of memory card? When you install, don't install any injectors and also check that none have inadvertently installed themselves in your extensions folder.
