Try 600/750. Quadro 5500 is only around that. It would be interesting to see if it solves the problem.

Hi darkfashion, You could try windows with the original 7900 rom. If you get the same problem the card is toast. If you don't, I can change the rom back to a fixed version of the 7900 GTX to boot in a hackintosh instead of Quadro. PS, Nice pic you sent. So you were busy on a Sunday?

always find this forum helpful...but I am stuck at the moment.
i7-920 6 Gb 9800 GT w/512Mb running 10.5.7 GA EX58-UB5 mobo
just can't seem to get QE/CI to work. tried the strings, made sure no injectors were present, current drivers are there.
here's what it looks like:
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT:
Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0614 Revision ID: 0x00a2 ROM Revision: netkas.org Displays: Display Connector: Status: No Display Connected LCD2690WUXi2: Resolution: 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-Bit Color Core Image: Software Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported QuartzGL: Supported
I'm looking at the rev status, is that 'netkas.org' entry a clue to my problem?
any other suggestions???
thanks!!! ~Rob

Hi there! =) Guess who went to the store and bought a XFX Geforce 9500GT 1 gb ? =) and guess who didn´t make it work ? is there some magic kext on this? anyone knows? I tried NVdarwin_Installer_1.2.5.mpkg.zip but i just install this package and choose 1024 option. I think i must go EFI with osx86 tools to get it right. www.darkfashion.se/9500GT.rar <- rom nuts.. sometimes im wondering why i didn´t have some attention back in school when we had programming

cmraseye,
The rev id tells me you have Netkas's ATIinit.kext in your system/Contents/extensions folder. If you were using strings with this it would overwrite them and stop them from working anyway. You must have installed it when you put the operating system on your PC. That of course not to say that strings will work.
darkfashion,
I don't think NVDarwin 1.25 is recent enough for your card, use strings.

Ok Aquaman, VOILA I fixed In the previos post when i say that the NVCAP was correct, I have been postin accordin to .rom that I've downloaded from the net, and the rezult was that, no wrong NVCAP But now, I've booted in BIOS, and with the command : nvflash -b -backup.rom, I've read the eproom of my Nvidia 9800 gt, and the loged in SL, open NVCAP maker 1.4,and the rezult was new nvcap :04000000 00000900 06000000 00000007 00000000 I changed this in Your in.plist, get new efistring, changed that in boot.plist, and here i go TNAHKS AGAIN for giving me direction what could be wrong THANKS I have the same issue as you, but I´m a total noob. Is there a step by step guide on how to solve this? Edit: One step further. Can I copy your nvcap value? And, in the in.pilst where does the nvcap value go? Is it were it reads <key>NVCAP</key> or is it the <data> field bellow?

You rock first of all, thanks for all your efforts.....
Far from a noob at the Hac, I figure I have gone past almost all major OSX86 challenges and have done this on over 50 different systems with many unique challenges.
This one has me flummoxed. EVGA GTX 285 2GB Model
Aquamac: I have tried everything (that I know) and to no avail.
QE/CI works BUT Sys Profiler says I have 4294965248 MB VRAM and Final Cut will launch but not after reporting I have -2048MB of VRAM and then won't do much of anything of course. Motion won't even load a template.
Tried ATY_ from netkas, graphics string from you, EVGA kexts, and combos of anything that seemed to make sense.
My device graphics section reads:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 DDL:
Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 DDL Type: GPU Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 4294965248 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x05e3 Revision ID: 0x00a1 ROM Revision: 3172a Displays: SAMSUNG: Resolution: 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Rotation: Supported Television: Yes VW246: Resolution: 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Mirror: Off Online: Yes Rotation: Supported
ANY help you can give would be appreciated. This is all vanilla with all legal copies of Snow and FInal Cut Studio.
Thanks!
Mac Wynn

hey aqua....
Saw you added a 2048mb 285 to you list so I tried the string I built with gfxutil but I just wanted to ask if I am supposed to remove all the NVDA files from S/L/E as well as NVResman.
Don't think so but I did get rid of injector and rebuilt caches.
Same prob exists.
Thoughts?
Yes 4+GB VRAM would be nice. : ) MacWynn=3D artist / motion grafx
thanks again...
