That card should work fine in a Hackintosh. When you get a card, send me the rom and I will change it into a Quadro! Cool thanks!

I've just bought a 7600GT for my media center and I'm very impressed with it's performance. I think most new 7600GT ar shipping with G73 B1 cores. These clock faster and run cooler than the original G73 of the 7600GT. The card I bought has the B1 and is clocked at 650MHz. I haven't tried over clocking, the card is more than quick enough, but I guess it would go as high as 700MHz. I paid £45, but I wouldn't say you've been ripped off. That cooler looks trick.

I paid £60. It was an impulse purchase I guess. I think it was the pregnant dogin cooler (!) that swung it for me. I'd like to keep my machine as quiet as possible (I'm running a silent 7300GT right now).
Also, not many of the 7600gt's seem to have dual DVI like this one. OK, I'm trying to justify it now. I should be honest. pregnant dogin cooler. Thats all.

Anyway, the card is installed and I'm pretty impressed.. Of course, the Powermac case wouldn't close anymore though!

And I know it's a cop out but I took the bits out of the Sawtooth case and put them in one of these: The 7600GT above was the main reason for the change (as the door wouldn't close grr!). Disappointed to lose the Sawtooth case but I'm liking this new one - it's all aluminium (so matches the Apple keyboard and Cinema Display) and everything fits inside with room to spare. It now idles a full ten degrees C cooler and doesn't go above 48 degrees C when running flat out (compared with previous 61 degrees C).

Using Arti's (of strangedogs fame) softstrap editor on the PC Does this part of art still exist? Or at least Gotoh's instructions to get 512Mb to work by editing the softstraps. I've been desperately searching for this for a while, unable to find anything. Not even in the download section of strangedogs. While all these "heroes" vanished from the (PPC) scene, their traces get harder to find each day. And Arti's own downloads as well as macvidia or Gotoh's nvinject-site are only part of history. In particular the softstrap editor would potentially be of great help for me to get some 512Mb PNY 6200 to work. Any help appreciated!
