andy@PowerMac-ubuntu:~$ sudo nvclock -f -i -- General info -- Card: Unknown Nvidia card Architecture: NV47 A1 PCI id: 0xf5 GPU clock: -2147483.750 MHz Bustype: PCI-Express -- Memory info -- Amount: 256 MB Type: 128 bit DDR Clock: -2147483.750 MHz andy@PowerMac-ubuntu:~$ Darn Nvidia, why won't they release PPC linux drivers. If this card runs any slower it will be going backwards... wait a minute, it darn well is I've tried this again using the 512MB ROM that doesn't work in OS X. Ubuntu runs just fine, although just using fb mode due to the lack of 3D drivers for Nvidia in PPC linux Edit: Here is the Debug Info from nvclock with the 7800 using the 256MB ROM.
root@PowerMac-ubuntu:~# nvclock -f -D --- Unknown Nvidia card GPU registers --- NV_PMC_BOOT_0 (0x0): 047300a1 NV_10F0 (0x10f0): 00007fff NV_1540 (0x1540): 73ff7f37 NV_15B0 (0x15b0): 01000000 NV_15B4 (0x15b4): 08000000 NV_15B8 (0x15b8): 94800000 NV_15F0 (0x15f0): 00000000 NV_15F4 (0x15f4): 00000000 NV_15F8 (0x15f8): 7fffffff NV_PFB_CFG0 (0x100200): 43003073 NV_PFB_TIMING0 (0x100220): 090e1b17 NV_PFB_TIMING1 (0x100224): 0a010808 NV_PFB_TIMING2 (0x100228): 22250408 NV_NVPLL_COEFF_A (0x680500): 00000000 NV_MPLL_COEFF_A (0x680504): 00000000 NV_VPLL_COEFF (0x680508): 00000802 NV_PLL_COEFF_SELECT (0x68050c): 00000a04 NV_NVPLL_COEFF_B (0x680570): 00000000 NV_MPLL_COEFF_B (0x680574): 00000000 root@PowerMac-ubuntu:~#This time nvclock reports the full 512MB, but still says 128 bit DDR I will have to look at the source code to see if I can figure out were nvclock reads these values from, It should read 256bit. Also I must see if there is a newer version of nvclock that can correctly identify the card as a Nvidia 7800 GS. I also have a ATI 9000 Pro which I rescued from a trash can. I've cleaned it up and lubed the fan with a little silicon grease. It runs sweat as a nut in my windows PC, but after flashing with the Mac ROM I just get a corrupt screen in OS X. This is real annoying as PPC linux has 3D support for this card. Any advice on modding this card for PPC use would be appreciated.
