Ok, here is the deal, i am hooking up a wireless network for my accountant friend and she has the DWL-G122 usb rev B1 adapter and a DI-524 wireless router (latest firmware). Ok, i have installed the updated software for both, but the dongle won't see the router, not even 2 inches from it. When it finally see's the router, i click connect, and i can't connect to it. Even though i have a green "D" in the task manager. Most of the time it's a scrolling red and white "D". How do i get it so the system see's the router and such? Take into consideration, she wants this to be a secure network for connecting with her laptop only. She connects to the net via onbaord RJ-45. That i have figured out, but this wireless ordeal has me pulling my hair out (what's left of it). This is all on a PC Windows XP ordeal, so anyone with any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Not used one of these with XP, but, if you type in usually 192.168.1.1 into your browser & pull up the router config pages, you sometimes have to enter the mac address of the 54g dongle, if you have the router set to throw off all computers other than ones you have specifically allowed. Usually the best thing to do when setting up is to set zero security to get it working then change one thing at a time. If the dongle can see the wireless network but cannot join it, then you need to change some setting in the router. Good luck JJ.

Well, after an hour and a half and some severe tinkering, i finally got the dongle to see the router AND connect. Now i just hope the security protocols work right and proper.
