I can upclock the G5 processor from 1.6/1.8/2.0 to 2.3ghz with almost linear improvement but could not get it to go further. Superficially I can clock up to 4.0ghz so far. Performance is somewhere at the 2.3ghz mark. Frankly I am using the Apple software that played with FSb settings. I am wondering since you are quite on script level, do you have some input that I can work on to improve further. My hunch is that the clock setting on the logic board need some tweaking. Thanks.
I cannot help him because I am more hardware mods than software. If anyone can help.

Bringing back a dead post. I am thinking of purchasing a Powermac G5 Dual 2.0 first generation. I have searched for some info on doing a mild overclock on this machine but was not able to find much info. Does anyone know if there is a way? I would think it is possible.
So basically about the only things you can do to G5's is max out the memory, put in a fast video card and run a raid array. Anyone know of any other performance mods other than ripping all the guts out and throwing in intel hardware?
