The first link had some nice ideas. The second link is really interesting. Really revamping the G5 case, reversing it and having everything sit in there so nicely. If you do your G5 mod, i would really like to see the pics of those once it's done.

Hi JJ, Just back from a couple of days away, was driving home & churning ideas over in my head as you do. I really fancy trying a double or triple 120 mm rad watercooled dual core intel. Something pretty extreme. It may take some time, but it's making the parts that I like. However next move is to find a case that is not silly money. They have them at 'We love macs' but they are $299. That wouldn't be so bad but I would also get a huge tax bill. If anyone hears of a case, going in good nic, please let me know!

The MB looks cool, It's sounds like you will be building a real powerhouse. The Dual 3GHz should more than quick enough for anything you care to run, I imagine they are darn expensive though! I've had a look at some of the other G5 case mods, and I like the look of the tribal tattoo design. Will you be modifying the look of the case or keeping the appearance original? You shouldn't bid on that case to early! You will only encourage other bidders and inflate the final price. My advice, snipe.

Hi Ritalin,
I will try to keep the design a little fluid, but I intend to watercool in a fairly big way, I really want to keep it quiet. For the PSU I intend to suck air in from the bottom & blow it out the back, I have quite a few ideas but I will wait untill offering up the various bits to the case till making final plans. I have a PCI-E 7900 GTX that has never been used, so I will be glad to find a home for that.
Your advice for the case is good, I got ahead of myself on that, firstly finding one available & then finding one that was close by to where I live. How much do you recon it is worth?

I'm guessing the case will be quite expensive as they are very desirable. Probably close to the price from 'we love macs'. I would bid on it myself, but I would rather see what you can do with it.

Thats good of you, I am suffering from severe alchohol abuse today after attending the anual work Chrismas bash last night! Why oh why did I have those brandy's, it seemed a really good idea at the time, but is always less appealing the following today.

I seem to be having some trouble getting OS X86 onto this mainboard. i get to the grey apple & spinning wheel for instalation from the disk & then the "No Entry" sign. In verbose mode it says "waiting for root device", presumably this is the harddisk, then does not go any further.
This has 8 Sata connectors & 1 IDE, but the OS X86 wiki says to use the purple sata ports which is what I have done. It says IDE does not work, well, I tried that too.
It says to format with Fat32 which I did, but I also tried Mac OSX Extended, Journaled, no luck.
Any ideas, anyone?

Well I have sorted out a case for my project, so when I receive it I can make a start! OK, not the cheapest case in the world, but it is a G5.
