And if you get yourself a ATTO UL4D SCSI Card, you can get a Performance of 640 MB/s with 1x HD, & 320 MB/s with 2x HD's. It's the fastest way. Downside is that the Drives run 15,000 RPM = Heat, Noise. & Price. Actually I think it's the other way around, 320 = 1 drive, 640 = 2 drives.

I just installed two 74gb Raptors in a striped raid with a Sonnet Sata card in my MDD Dual 1.42 and My drive scores doubled in XBench but all my other scores went down. Graphics, Cpu etc... Anyone know why?

Anyone know why? Well I will answer my own question. I just got off the phone with Sonnet and they said I need to downgrade the firmware. They sent me this link. www.firmtek.com/download/SeriTek1S2_513.zipHopefully this will help someone else as I have searched for an answer for hours. I wont be able to try it until tonight but I will post my results in case anyone is interested.

I will be interested to hear if this improves matters. Maybe this is a Raptor problem.

Ginz111,
You should get 1.5 out of your Dual 1.42 without to much trouble as well - nice setup you have.

I am probably gonna go to 1.5 soon. I am looking / shopping for better video cards now. As for the Raptors they are fast and noisy. I was thinking about going the SSD route but the good ones are still a bit pricey.
