Hello everyone, i appologize if this is long winded but it seemed like you may need some of this info
For the last few months(half year?) i have been in a painstakingly slow proscess of rebuilding a g5 tower(original plan was sell this imac a buddy gave me for some work i did for him and build a hackintosh in the g5 case, however 2 friends informed me they had the missing peices the case needed and i decided to give the imac to my daughter as her moms computer died and blah blah blah)
i have one of the last 2 model's of the g5 tower i'm rebuilding(cant remember and am not near the machine so i cant look) to be a visuals machine. (i do visuals for music events in my region and would like to be able to run a variety of outputs to create one large image, as in use a couple of projectors and have each one run a small slice of the output image so i can create a way bigger image, which my perffered program can route the output to do)
my plan with this machine is to have all the pci-e slots filled with video cards for a maximum video output capability however finding graphics cards is becoming a daunting task therefor i have concluded that flashing other cards is my best option. i've noticed that there seems to be alot of different minor issues with flashing cards and having full control of the video outs
SO
now that i have explained what i am planning my question's are:
is it feasible to run multiple cards in this machine like i think it is?
and if so what would be the cards you fine folks recomend for over all functionability? and why?
i believe it's the early 2005 model that can handle 8gb of ram model of the g5 although it might be the late 2005 all i know is it has 3 empty pci-express slots
running osx10.4 that i am upgrading to 10.5 next time i am near the comp with time to throw at it
and could u bear to mind the fact i am not rich nor anything close to.
thank you for your time and help in advance!
