I bought a used mac pro case (I don't know the exactly year version)... I'd like to build my new desktop into that mac pro case, installing obviously mac os x...practically an hackintosh in mac pro case I'm writing because I have to start works on it and order components... My ideas are clear for all except the mobo... intel core i7-860 8 gb ram corsair 1333Mhz ddr3 wd caviar black 1tb 64mb buffer 7200rpm gigabyte 6970 ddr5 2048 mb graphic card now, what kind of mobo could work better with mac osx, with this configuration, and which kind of mobo is easier to install to do good work into mac pro case? better, I'd like to keep HDD slides in function, cutting and removing less parts as possible, keeping a good external look, having clean and ordered connection in the case and searching to keep the various segmentation for the cooling... practically I'd like to have as similar as possible mac pro case in all...look, functions, exct... help me choose mobo experts...and I accept any advise for this kind of work... thanks, and sorry for my english... :-XI'm italian ;D

thanks aqua mac but this mobo could work with my future i7 quad core?because in the description I read that is for i7 six core...the intel i7 quad core has "Socket H2 (LGA1155)" and now I'm fighting because there's the i7 2600 in offer (3.4 Ghz vs 2.8 Ghz of i7-860 with a price difference really small).....and what about something similar to this mobo for 1155 socket but a little cheaper? 8-)only because I'd like to spend not over 150€ for the mobo and what do you think about my "configuration"?hackintosh could run in every detail? thank you

ok...1155 and 1156 are not the same in this site where I'll order there aren't mobo with 1155 socket, but only 1156 and 1366... so, or I don't buy the i7 2600 (but has a really good price) or I'll order from another site the mobo, but with a 1155 socket micro atx similar at your advice 8-)if I'll find

I think I would go for the Asus Maximus that you suggest. Only a personal choice but I like Asus boards, closely followed by Gigabyte boards, I would make sure that you have to full speed PCIe slots that will take 2 graphics double slot cards, so you want to make sure the board has FireWire and plenty of USB sockets. Of course these are my personal recomendations for future expansion and you may have different priorities of course.
