I know you boys and gals are Intel nuts, but what is the best way to install SL on a Phenom II based system?
I have tried a few ways and have had no luck. Some just hang, and some tell me the cd has no bootloader. So, i decided to start from scratch.
Here are the specs of my system.
Maybe someone out there may be able to help me.
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H CPU: Phenom II X2 555 3.2 GHz Video: Visiontek ATI HD3870x2 1 GB Ram: 8 GB DDR3-1333 HD: all SATA II DVD: SATA
I'm looking at seeing if i can outdo my MDD for a regular system that i can use everyday without being in the dust for slow.

Ok, tried the 10.6 with the 10.6.1 update from Hazard and i used the strings -v and cpus=1 and it just reboots itself. If I let it do it's own thing without pressing F8, i get this error... System config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found
So i am going to try the iDeneb 10.5.6 AMD installer. Hopefully that gives me a base to work off of.

Ok, found out my issue. If i set up the partition table as MBR, but format as Apple HFS+ journaled, then it boots just fine. so far i am just amazed at how fast this thing goes!!! 10.5.6 is where i am at right now, but i am wanting to see either 10.6 or update to 10.5.8 at least. and i need to figure out CI/QE on my 3870x2 As for the audio, i don't see it in system profiler,, but in system preferences, i seems to see it there.

Ok, a new problem has arose.
Somewhere on my case, or in it is a fault. I touch the case (either metal or plastic) and the system reboots itself. So now i have to hunt that down.
I was trying to get the iDeneb 10.5.7 installed when i noticed this.
I am almost tempted to just trade my PC for an Intel Mac of sorts. Maybe someone will want to swap a Mac for a gaming AMD.
