Part 1
First you need E-UAE
(A Mac version of Ubiquitous Amiga Emulator) that has been compiled as a universal or Intel only binary.
It is available to download
here.E-UAE doesn't come with a GUI so you will need an program called Hi-Toro.
(Hi-Toro is a Mac OS X configuration editor for E-UAE, the Enhanced Unix Amiga Emulator. It provides an Aqua graphical user interface for you to make, open, save, modify and run configurations, including configurations imported from WinUAE, or other UNIX variants of the emulator.)Hi-Toro can be downloaded
here. You will also need the SDL Runtime Libraries (SDL.framework) installed within in /Library/Frameworks
(SDL is a free cross-platform multi-media development API)
The SDL Runtime Libraries can be downloaded
here.Once you have the above three items:
Copy the SDL.framework into /Library/Frameworks
Create a folder called Amiga within your Applications folder: /Applications/Amiga
Copy E-UAE and Hi-Toro Applications into your new Amiga folder.
Like most emulators, E-UAE requires a ROM image of the machine it's to emulate. To run AmigaOS 3.9 you will need "Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.68 (1993)(Commodore)(A1200).rom".
Create a folder called ROMs within your Amiga folder: /Applications/Amiga/ROMs
Copy the KickStart ROM into your newly created ROMs folder.
You are almost ready to run your Amiga! We need now is a configuration file telling Hi-Toro how to work and a hard drive folder containing AmigaOS 3.9 +AmiKit. I have already saved a configuration file
here.Download the file 'default.uaerc' and copy it into Amiga folder.
You should also set the Hi-Toro preferences as follows:
Running Hi-Toro with the default config will result in a screen like this:
This is because the hard drive folder containing AmigaOS 3.9 +AmiKit is missing.
Part 2AmiKit, what is it?
click here.AmiKit will only install on a Windows system :-( Luckily my hackintosh can easily boot into XP :-)
Follow the instructions to instal
Amikit. All the files required can be found on the Green Demon.
Once you have the system installed in Windows:
Create a folder called AmiKit within your OSx86 Amiga folder: /Applications/Amiga/AmiKit
Copy the contents of the Windows AmiKit folder: /Program\ Files/AmiKit/AmiKit/
into your OSx86 folder: /Applications/Amiga/AmiKit/
Edit: Before launching Hi-Toro you should do the following -
Move the CD0 file located in /Applications/Amiga/AmiKit/Devs/DOSDrivers/
into
/Applications/Amiga/AmiKit/Storage/DOSDrivers/Launch Hi-Toro click OK and you should have a usable Amiga system :-)
Some Amiga links:The Amiga History Guide - the largest Amiga history site in the world!
Amiga stuff for newbiesThis will guide you through setting up E-UAE to run your favorite
Amiga 500 game.Part 3 Top TipsE-UAE recognises the apple key (aka command) as a right mouse button modifier - hold the apple key down and then when you click the mouse it will be a right click.

F11 + F-----------------Emulates freeze button of Action Replay cartridge (if you have a cartridge ROM loaded).
In OSX F11 may be used by Expose, so you may need to change your Expose settings.
Inserting or ejecting a floppy image (ADF) while in full screen mode will crash E-UAE :-(
To avoid this F11 + S into windowed mode before/after inserting or ejecting an ADF image.
Always work in full screen mode as windowed mode is dog slow!
The following keys are mapped to the Amiga keys and Help key:
Left Super--------------Left Amiga
Right Super-------------Right Amiga
PageDown----------------Left Amiga
PageUp------------------Right Amiga
Menu key----------------Right Amiga
Insert------------------Help
The "Super" keys are the Windows keys on a PC keyboard, Command keys on a Mac keyboard, Amiga keys on an Amiga keyboard, etc. Note that most Mac keyboards don't differentiate between left and right Option keys, and both will produce a Left Amiga.
