I've got my snow leo working like a dream on my Asus P5Q Deluxe, The sound is out of the box with USB speakers, and so I even got to hear the intro jingle on first boot. So after messing with a few post install Kexts from the p5q deluxe threads at insanely by Captain Nemo and Shaumux, she purring away really sweet, but for one thing... Internerd Access My Leopard install sees the router and can surf the net without problems, whereas my snow leopard install sees the router, gets the address of the router but won't access the internet with it. I would like to get to a point where I can delete my leopard partition, or at least slim it's size right down, but I still find myself going back into it time and time again. The mesage from the networks control panel always speaks of assigns it own IP address - cannot access internet. Has anyone else had this problem?

How is your ethernet listed in your Network Tab (Systempreferences)? Is it green and shows it like (en0) (en2), can you surf your local network? I think you just need to find the right Kext for your ATHEROS L1E Lan wich is onboard. Never dealed with that, but i am pretty sure you find the right Kext somewhere on INsanely.
By the way, how did you boot your Leo and how did you install it? Is it Retail or a Distribution? What kexts are you loading for LAN?
Like I saw in Insanely the network should work right out of the box!

Hi Derpuma, THe ethernet is green on ISP, yellow on the next one, and red for internet! Both my installations are genuine retail discs, if I can't afford a mac pro - and in reality it's too overpriced anyway, I always buy a genuine apple OS. I originally booted with Boot123 but now use a USB stick I've made with Chameleon and EFI bootloader. The Leo Lan kexts were part of a bundle by a guy on insanely called Captain Nemo and work a treat, Just snow leo has issues.
I'll do some research to see if other boards have this controller and see what kexts they use.
I am still very much a virgin with Hackintosh so it's still all new and bewildering- but i'm loving the learning experience.

There are two different drivers for the AL1 on board Lan on the P5Q MB's. One is for 32bit the other (surprise) 64bit. Make sure your driver has an _x64 on the end. If you have trouble finding it let me know. This should solve your problems.
