this is probably something that i am overlooking and i am new to osx86...i've used linux for a few years...anyway. installed kalyway 10.5.2 on a dell xps720 with an evga 9800gtx 512. everything works using kexts from aqua-mac and GFX string but system profiler only shows 256 meg of VRAM. now i changed the line that i thought was correct for the "00000020" to make it 512 but evidently i have missed something..in other words HELP!!!!!...anybody!!!!

If you use the gfx strings for 9800gtx at the begining of the thread it is already set up with 512 mb of ram. If you already used this, then maybe you still have NVDARWIN or NVINJECT, NVKUSH or NATIT in your extensions folder. These need to be removed. If you used the generic input list it sets the ram @ 256 mb.

no nvinject or nvkush ...only the GeForce kexts ....only thing that i did was install Kalyway 10.5.2 with NO VGA drivers then load the kexts and run the gfxutil with the in.plist from your post for the 512 card..sorry i'm a pain...thanks

Strange,
I am using the very same input list and my 9800 GTX reports 512 mb. The figure in there is 00000020 which equates to 512 mb. This input file has been used by loads of people without problems so there must be something else wrong. What does OpenGL Extensions Viewer report?

OpenGL Extensions viewer reports 512 for the VRAM so I can probably ignore the system profiler???...thanks again
