Just caught this off of MacSurfer today: www.sonnettech.com/news/press/pr2006/pr080106_encorestg416.htmlDual 7447a's @ 1.6 GHz ($499 USD) or 1.8 GHz ($599 USD). Fully compatible with OS 9.2.2 and OS X (10.3.5 and above). Fully compatible with Digital Audio, Gigabit Ethernet, and Quicksilver Macs (and appropriately compatible AGP Graphics models too). Thoughts on this, anyone? The PR mentions no need for configuring switches or jumpers - does this mean that this can't be oc'd?

Hi Rampancy, Sonnets usually autoconfigure themselves to the bus speed and don't have jumpers. $599 seems a trifle pricey as the Giga Dual 1.8 is only $499: www.gigadesigns.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=22[img src="http://www.gigadesigns.com/ProductImages/M_Series[1].gif"] Here is a pic of the Sonnet: Heat Sink looks bigger than the Giga though, which can only be good news! Also the mosfets, (if you look at the Giga, they are the components covered by the 2 flat pieces of copper) are directly against the main heat sink on the Sonnet, which is a far more sensible solution, as they get extremely hot.
