HI, I have 3 of the single 1ghz cpu's One of them had no reading on the level 3 cache in the system profiler, so I overclocked the logic board to 166mhz and the cpu to 1.5mhz. It runs fine and cool with a geek bench score of 860 (my dual 1ghz scores 922)
I tried to overclock the other cpu's but they will not boot at 1.5. So I'm wondering if I got lucky because the first cpu seemed to have already lost it's level 3 cahce and this is what prevents the later cpu's to boot (l3 cahce mhz too high at 1.5ghz)
Is there a way to disable the level 3 cache on the cpu itself?
Maybe I just got lucky with this cpu at 1.5?
