I was wondering if anyone had the pinout diagram on the rear G5 fans (DP 2.5 GHz Late 2004).
I was hoping to put in better 92mm fans in place of the stock ones that were there. Since when i tested mine, the CPU exhaust fan 0 has a bad RPM wire and spins at full speed (tested on a known good G5).
Also when all is said and done, these fans will be cooling an air cooled Dual Processor 2.5 GHz G5, instead of a faulty LCS unit.

Ok, so according to your post, i can use PWM fans (w/4 wires)? or do i have to find something else? I was looking at these fans and seeing if they will work. The GT9225-LBD0A

Or what i was thinking was this... Using this type of connector with this type of wiring mod to make any normal 3 pin fan run Color code... Black = Ground Red = +5V Yellow = +12V Blue = RPM

I think it's a good idea. Just not forget that the wires were numbered from one to six, starting from the bottom the way the plug was shown on the picture.

I'll figure out which is pin one when i look at the logicboard. Arrows always point to pin one. When it comes time to do the mod, i will keep everyone posted on the progress.
