OK, I have been a bit slow off the mark on this one, but decided to have a crack at Apple's latest and greatest on my latest hack. Took a couple of evenings, but is running like a train on an external drive. Running fast and smooth. Apple HDA is the only thing left to sort. I now have networking working on my P6T7.

Aqua, I wondered when this was coming As always, I am amazed! Can't wait to see it running in all it's glory. I have a SSD set aside just for Lion (Hopefully, I can do this one myself ;D ).

Hi, I will send you the installer I made that will update your flash drive to boot both Snow Leo and Lion with the new Chameleon when you are ready. Have a spare put to one side in readiness!! Exclusively for P6T7.
All the best.

Hi Aqua, it nice to see you're still there with the goods. Yesterday Apple sent me an email announcing Lion was shipping and I see you've already cracked it. I'm running a P6T7 i7-980x with 3way sli gtx480 setup, any chance you could PM the new installer? I've struggled getting this far and I'd like to stay with someone who's made a specific installer rather than try cobbling something together. It always seems 1 step forward ten steps back when I try running anything not intended for this board...
Thanks again

Aqua, Will our hacks be up to the task of installing Lion via the app store? That would be really cool!

Hi Guys, Have just seen this, will put up the installer for the USB flash drive tomorrow night for the Asus P6T7. As far as downloading is concerned, there is a walkthrough somewhere for what to do after you have downloaded the disk image from the App store. First of all follow this: eggfreckles.net/tech/burning-a-lion-boot-disc/How to Install Mac OS X 10.7 Lion on PC/Laptop 1. Boot into existing Mac OS X installation (Leopard or Snow Leopard). This can be your friend’s Mac, it doesn’t matter. 2. Double click Mac OS X Lion.dmg to mount it. 3. In the Terminal, Type the following: open /Volumes/Mac\ OS \ X\ Install\ ESD/BaseSystem.dmg 4. Plug your 8gb USB drive and Open Disk Utility. 5. Format the USB drive as “Mac OS Extended (Journaled)”. 6. Navigate to Finder and locate the restored drive and goto folder System > Installation and there you will see “Packages”. Remove it. Create a new Empty folder called “Packages”. 7. In Terminal, type: open /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/Packages copy the contents to System > Installation > Packages (empty folder). 8. Locate your “FakeSMC.kext” (typically in Extra > Extensions) and copy it to USB’s “System > Library > Extensions”. 9. In Terminal navigate to “Extensions” (you can do this quickly by typing “cd ” and then dragging & dropping “Extensions” to Terminal) and fix permissions using: sudo su [your password here] chown -R 0:0 FaksSMC.kext chmod -R 755 FakeSMC.kext That should be all for the USB. It now has all the basic stuff for kicking the installation. Don't forget, you will need the USB flash drive installer that I will put up tomorrow night!

Here you go, those with P6T7, download the following and install to a USB flash drive that has been formatted with Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Asus P6T7 Lion Boot SupportThis also works with Snow Leopard and will continue to boot your Snow installation. You will need to replace the Apple HDA.kext in System/Library/Extensions with a modded one. Contact me for that.

OK guys, here is an installer for Asus P6T7 I made to install Lion GM AppleHDA.kext fix, IONetworking fix to get both lag ports working and also fix cuda. You can select what fixes you need in the installer. Ignore the weird phishing page that comes up when you go to download. Download
