Ive gotten my hands on two types of Geforce Cards. Geforce 6200 and 7600gs. Is there anything i can do to flash these cards so i can use them in my G5? Ive got a Radeon 9800pro already in there but the 7600gs is way faster. Since this is a 1.6ghz G5 its only got AGP 8X.
If both these cards can be flashed for mac i would be happy. Tried google, but no go. If its possible to use a 7800gs rom in the 7600gs its ok by me.

I don't know about the 7600 since the only cards that came out like that for a mac was for the Mac Pro units. So a compatible rom might not be available on a PPC machine. As for the 7800 rom onto the 7600 card, you would have to ask aquamac or some of the other guys on that one. As for the 6200, they are faster than the 9800. I currently have one in my Quicksilver G4. And yes, they will work as an 8X AGP card in a G5. Core image and such is enabled and you can find that rom here...*edit I forgot to give you some info on flashing the card. Nvflash Basics & Nvidia General FlashingThose 2 links should help you out.

Sure the 6200 is faster? Other forums inform that they are way slower than the 9800pro

Well, the most i can compare that card to is when i bought my QS 2002, it came with a geforce2 video card. I had flashed a 5200 which in the macelite forums and strangedogs forums, stomps the 9800 (from what i was told). Then afterward i bought a fanless 6200. That pushed way past the 5200 in my experiences. I didn't have a 9800 card (the 256MB version is better) so i couldn't do proper tests. Now this was also a few years ago when i did this. Best bet, do what aquamac did and get a 7800 card and be maxed in the G5. I have seen the 7800 G70 cards fly.
