P.S. tried to rerun script, nothing......

I'm pretty much in the same boat, but using 10.5.7. I do have the correct resolution, but now I'm running into a glitching type problem when I move a window or scroll I get horizontal lines on the screen, that appear as 1/4" dashes, that trail the window. If I'm scrolling, it may only show 2 lines at the bottom of the window when scrolling down, and 4 at the top of the window when I'm scrolling up. It doesn't really hurt anything but it just seems like something isn't working right.
I also can't seem to get Quartz enabled. When I used OSX86 Tools to enable it, I couldn't get my system to start back up.
Here's my System Profile description:

Hi all, my 8800GT (first gen) passed away like 10 mins ago (thanks god i have the old 7xxx card).

I have a 9800gt 512mb, i use this card on my old pc. Is possible to use (flashing or changing things) on my mac pro 1,1?

i use 10.6.4, mac pro 1.1 (2006/2007), before starting tweaking files & co is better if i ask, im really new with this sort of "hacking" the os.

Thanks in advice (and sorry for my english)

You cannot really flash that card as apple never used it in the mac pro therefore no suitable mac rom exists. However, if you download an injector such as NVEnabler.kext and try the card in slot 2 to start with you may be able to use it. You must have your 7 series card in slot 1 though as this will inject the information that is missing from your 9 series cards bios. If this works, try reversing the cards around. You wont get a picture on the screen that way though until your mac hits the blue boot screen as that is when the injector loads.

Thanks a lot for the reply Aquamac, i have done some test reading this forum and insanelymac + netkas. I've done all the test/tips with no luck (maybe is this 9800gt). the main problem is all about the mac pro 1,1. The only official "big" gfx card is the 8800. I read about flashing a 285, maybe i can try with this card.

thanks again, you are a kind person =)

cheers

Hi, I know this is an old thread but I would like to use this method for 10.6.4 and the permissions link doesn't work. Can you help me out?

Thanks!
