Believe it or not, I've still not got anything back from ChilledPC, took em nearly six months to do the first paint job, they've had this lot since the begining of November.

Joe, I hope your parts are back soon! I can;t wait to see your new build in all its glory Really like the fan shrouds and grills. They absolutely look the part and those Scythe S-Flex (high speed?) fans ought to keep everything nice and cool. Looking good my friend!

Cheers Pal, I'd lost heart in it to be honest, Collectivity ChilledPC have had my rig for 9 month! so to speak I could have had this finished 8 Months ago when the i7 950 (well it would have been a 920) was the biz and my 5870 was still the best card on the market. Now I'm building a rig that is dated before it was ever finished. Tom is shipping my parts back to me tomorrow (about time) I have everything to complete it now too, so updates a plenty are on the way.
Thanks for the kind words.

I know what you mean. But look at it this way. You still have some of the baddest hardware out there (The core i7-990x is coming which will offer lots of life to the X58/LGA1366 motherboards) and to my way of thinking Sandy Bridge isn't that great. Yes, it's low power and easy to overclock but I really don't want DRM forced on me like that. I think the 950 will keep you happy for a good while to come. As for the GPU I wouldn't sweat it. I got my GTX 480 and the 580 came out 27 days later? Oh well Your hack is gonna be bad-ass even with those antiques under the hood! I kid of course. Get that 950 to 4.5 GHz and it will be scary fast!

Cheers Buddy,
The case is now almost re-built!! It's looking awesome!! really really different. I'd bean waiting on the final powder coated parts to come back (which they did, but wernt coated... GRRR) so they are now with another coater.
It's only the RAD mounts and rear IO parts. Then I gotta make some custom Mobo mounts and fit the hardware..
I'm reluctant to upload any of the photos I've been taking as I wanna just get it finished, properly photographed then then upload some pro shots.
It'll be done this march..
I'm selling my 5870 with its unused EK block and black plate to help finance either a GTX580 (single) or 2 x 6950's (which I'll flash to 6970's). Ultimatly I doubt my 1Kw PSU would power 2 x GTX580's. and the money I'd save on 2x ATI over 2xNvidia is unreal! (about £400.00).

Joe, I can't wait to see the finished project I have no doubt that a 1Kw PSU would run 2x580s (My 1200w is running 3 480s no problem) but that's some mad money you're saving with the ATIs. I would definitely go that route and save some cash!
EDIT: I just saw what 6990s are running in your part of the world! Are they serious?
