No worries, thanks for saving a copy of the original too. I saved it to my website server and put it up on my mac pro page as for some reason, Zapros site is down and all info lost. Hopefully it will not be lost again. I quite enjoyed doing them actually!

Looking at the DS2R photo and then the MacPro Motherboard mounts... is it gonna fit without having to cut off and reset the mounts inside the case?
Just ordered the RAM cage (which will house the CPU, RAM and act as a wind tunnel and window into the case).

The mounts need removing that are situated under the board. You need to fashion some mounts. I used some aluminium strip, put a threaded hole into each square then screwed in a mount. These were then glued into position with Liquid metal epoxy.

Well that sucks! i thought it might fit....
Did you bring your homemade mounts upto the same height as the standard Apple ones? would my Araldite Rapid work as well as the Liquid metal epoxy?
what thickness were your aluminium strips?

The alloy strip I used was 20 mm x 1.5 mm thick. I cut it into 20 mm lengths and tapped a 3 mm thread into the middle. That matched my standoffs. I found some long standoffs in a case I already had, but you could achieve a similar height by screwing 2 together. Your araldite rapid should do the trick. This is the trickiest mod I did to date, so take your time. Shame zapros site is still down as there were some good photos of that.

I removed the original stands - applied them to my ds2r mobo with screws and glued everything inside the case with epoxy - graka installed so that everything fits - waited a few hours and done...

Mogwai77 i think i'm gonna try it that way too. Did you have to remove all the Apple standoffs? or just create yourown where needed? I thought i'd take one of the apple ones out, take it to work, find some Alu, find the correct thickness and make like 10 of them. Attach to my Mobo then glue in.
Aquamac I'll take some shots of me making the ones i'll use.. enough to help anyone else who may need to know.

Keep those photos coming, it's looking great. Love the twin 120 mm Apple fans. I recon you may just got a radiator in there. How much space is left with the motherboard and front fans in position?

There really seems to be lots of room.. the fans fall flush with the first Hard drive bay. It's held in place with a latch and a motherboard mount.
How did you get the apple standoffs off? a hammer?  they are solid!
I'm making the new standoffs today. picked up some liquid epoxy from a car garage this morning.

I removed the standoffs with pliers and a "quick move" you won´t break the stands - before that could happen, the adhesive-film "breaks"
I removed all stands in the area of the to come DS2R mobo.

Cheers Mogwai77, I've had to delay my standoffs until tomorrow as the engineer thats gonna fashion the new ones is busy today. Hoping to do the wiring tomorrow too.
Will be ordering the CPU Heatsink Cover tomorrow too. check out WeFixMac store on eBay UK.. if they dont list it... just ask for it. there great.. shipping is pricy but this stuff is had to get ya hands on.

As Mogwai says, the standoffs come off quite easily with a pair of pliers. Just clamp each one and bend it over. It will suddenly "give" without doing any damage. I left the others that were not in the way as they can be useful to fix other bits to or in yout case the fan shroud. Look forward to seeing all your "GEAR" in position.

Me too, all being well i will post some initial shots tomorrow. Basic set up with the front fans in place.. I'm trying to work out how to connect the rear 120mm Fan to the back of the case...
Also all my fans are 4-pin but there is only 2 4-pin connections on the Motherboard..
