Apple A1114 Bluetooth Module

I came across this very interesting topic about using a native A1114 bluetooth module from a macbook.

What it is, basically using the 4 pins from the module and wiring it to a USB header in your case. In my version, I have a 2008 Mac pro case, so All I did was wire that bluetooth antenna embedded in the pci slot assembly, and wire it to the Bluetooth module and double stick taped it above my cd rom tray.

Easy?

Well it appears the 5.5 voltage on USB may be too much, maybe not. I haven't yet come to a conclusion. I am yet to actually connect mine to my usb header.

Many people were using diodes inline with the 5.5v to bring it back to 3.3v. I guess the 5.5v might fry the board? and in a mac pro it uses 3.3v?

No one is getting back to me on this one over at tonymac, So I was going to ask around on here..

Do you think I would just be able to put a separate 3.3v line onto the module? would the usb need all four pins to connect?

The incredible part about the module is EVERYTHING works. Since it is an apple chip, sleep, wakeup from bluetooth, even selection at chameleon with this module WORKS. Or so I've read.

I'm curious to find out if you get this working. It would be nice to maintain pairings between mac and windows like on a real mac pro. Right now I have to repair my magic trackpad between switching from windows to mac and it would be really nice to not have to do that.
