 iBook Apple Logo Mod
« Thread Started on Aug 26, 2008, 1:08am »

This was really fun today, My Father in-law had some blue backing plexeglass and wanted to know if I was game to see if we could make a paper weight out of my iBook G4 1.2GHz. His ideal turn out great, I wish I had my camera after me and my Father in-law had started it.

Looks great! wish the graphics chip had not died on my ibook. I still have it as a paperweight, but it is rather large for that function!

:( Fun but sad day, Wife is making me put it on eBay, either that, or no new MB for My G5 Case and Memory, it's fine though, I don't even use the thing now, but a Mac is a Mac no matter how you look at it, always hate to see them go :(

Why not pick up a cheap one off eBay, or find the low Case with the guts? I know they are still pricey, even when sold as parts though.

Or do what i did with mine, resolder pin 28 on the graphics chip and she's purring like a kitten. That's on a G4 iBook though.

Is pin 28 the problem, if thats all that is required, it may be worth taking this apart again!

With mine, i had the fuzzy lines going across my screen. After doing alot of research, i found out that the iBook G4 graphics chip was the culprit. Now this link goes a little over the extreme, but all i did was resolder the one pin that they talk about. That would be pin 28. These guys tried to make it overboard. After i resoldered the one pin, the screen acts like normal
